About The Philosophy Department

In 2006Barasat College has introduced Honours course in Philosophy. The department aims at building a strong foundation of philosophy. Starting from the journey of the Dept. of philosophy at this college, there were many prominent scholars who have worked in this centre. The most important thing of this department is the consistency of students’ progress in their result and other academic activities. The department frequently organizes seminar, workshop, and extension lecture poster presentation, wall magazine competition for the development of students’ quality in the first hand and building research oriented mind-set among the student.
